About Us

Croft Filters supply wedge wire, a profiled wire used to construct a screen which is both robust and extremely accurate. Usually manufactured from stainless steel, it comes in various forms: flat panels, curved panels, segments or sections, to form floors, discs and drums, and also in a cylindrical form known as a ‘slot tube’.
Performing extremely well in applications requiring accuracy as well as strength, wedge wire is suitable for maintenance-free situations and high-pressure applications. Apertures range from 0.1mm to 20mm, complemented by wire profiles and support wires.
With a design that helps the screen clear easily and is less likely to peg or blind, wedge wire is a unique material.

Slot Tubes

Here at Croft we can supply wedge wire slot tubes to many varied specifications including custom made end fittings to suit your application.

Slot tubes are in particular very popular to the petrochemical and food processing industry as they provide efficient filtration systems for liquid and solid separation.

There are essentially two different slot tubes designs frquently used – Radial Slot and Axial Slot.

Wedge wire slot tubes are advantageous for users that demand bigger filter areas without having to worry about the possibility of clogging of impurities.

Easy maintenance can also be achieved with slot tubes through the use of back flushing techniques.

Our sister company Croft Additive Manufacturing can even 3D Metal print slot tubes to custom specifications.

Rundown Screens

Curved panel (rolled) wedge wires are utilised as conveyor and screening media in dewatering and draining applications. Wedgewire conveyor screens usually have axial wires and are half cylinders. Other configurations are also produced.

Croft filters are often required to supply wedge wire rundown screens – also called Parabolic screens.

A rundown screen is often used in instances where dewatering is necessary, and these include a high capacity, cost effective, highly efficient method of solids/liquids separation.

These screens are manufactured to suit the specific requirements of the customer and application. Which enables a solution for separating solids and liquids. Consisting of an outer body, which is manufactured in mild steel or stainless steel. Each unit has an inlet chamber and feed weir, over which the wet media passes onto the wedge wire panel, set at right angles to the material flow, enabling the separating process to function. Separated solids are collected at the lower section of the screen to drain and compact normally in a tray. After that, they then slide by gravity onto a solids discharge chute. The extracted liquid passes through the wedge wire into an underflow collecting chamber, with a disposal outlet for either re-circulation or discharge.
